We made it to Friday once again. Another work week gone by, another shopping day crossed off the calendar until Christmas.
Today I'll be doing my final rehearsal for tomorrow nights' show at the Hearing Room in Lowell. We've added several new songs to the set lists so it's pretty exciting for me when I get to do new material in front of an audience for the first time. I hope to see a lot of familiar faces in the room.
Patriot's Nation will be holding it's collective breath today as our favorite lunk of a tight end, Rob Gronkowski, undergoes back surgery. There has been much talk on sports radio about him missing the rest of the season, being traded, released, ending his career et cetera......My thought was a little different considering this could impact a lot more than his football career,
I get it. Gronk is a famous, larger than life professional athelete making huge money, and he has done some amazing things on the field. It's pretty easy for me to lose sight of the fact that in relative terms, he's really just a kid. Granted, he may be a pretty rich kid now, and there are those occasional, off the field moments when he seems like he is stuck in perpetual Spring Break Mode. But quietly ,behind the scenes, he has demonstrated many acts of generosity and thoughtfulness that the cameras don't catch as ofen as they do the twerking and the partying. I'm thinking Mr. and Mrs. Gronkowski did a pretty good job a parents, and Rob Gronkowski is a pretty normal young guy that enjoys partying the same was many of us and our kids did when we were his age.
So football aside, I hope for Rob and his family that all goes well with the surgery today. And I hope you all have an awesome weekend, Maybe I'll even see a few of you tomorrow night.
